Depending on your build, frame, BMI, 5 pds could be alot or a little.

Avoid fried foods totally. No chocolate bars. Cardio exercise like crazy, this means at least 1 hour a day, i.e., cycle, running, extended fitness class.

In 2 weeks, likely the numbers will drop on the scale, but this is a 'false positive' mostly water. In 1 month, you will have truly lost 5 pounds.

Start some regular exercise. When I was that age and running everyday, I couldn't eat enough and still kept the weight off. At 17 your metabolism is going like crazy - a little boost will go a long way.

Go running at a highschool track for a good hour...3 times a week. make sure you drink lots of water and eat 4 small meals during the day...and dont forget a vitamin (multivitamin)...you 'll kick ***...good luck
