I took an EPT and after waiting a minute it showed negative, so I through it in the trash. Then about an hour later I just happened to look in the trash and it was a faint positive, so what should I do now. I don't know if it was + or -. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Update, I took another test this morning and it was negative. I am spotting a little but, it has been that way for a week so maybe my system is just messed up. I am going to the gyn for a yearly check up this month so thanks for all of the anwers.

yes it has my sisters both of her test came back that way let me resay that 2 diff times 2 diff pregnacys and both was faint lines you could hardly see them and she was preg but be on the safe side and just buy a real cheap on cause if you are pregnant your HCG levels will be rising cause your hormone levels raise really fast with pregnancy so buy a cheap one and take it tomorrow

I think you probably are. I had a very faint line come up...but it came up right away. there is a chance that you got what is called the evaporation line or something...where over an hour or so, the coloring starts to show thru the strip...making a line. But last month i took tons of tests and ALWAYS took 2nd and 3rd peeks at them hours later and never had the evap line show. I would bet you are. If so...CONGRATS!

I told my daughter she was pregnant a week before she took a pregnancy test. Didn't have alot of money at the time, so bought her a dollar store pg. test. Didn't figure it would work but showed positive. If you have questions about the test. Take another one. If you don't trust the home tests. Go to the Doc. or a local health department to get the answer. Good Luck.

Wait a few days or a week and take another one or see a doctor for an actual positive answer. About the seeing a faint positive after an hour I can't really help you there... it could mean anything.

I had that happen and I was negative. It was so disappointing. Some pregnancy tests look positive after 15 minutes or so. But it never hurts to retest if you are not sure. You never know.
I would buy one and retest with first morning urine. Leave it out no longer than 5 minutes and then take a look. Atleast you will know for sure.

The restrict for first reaction is 10 minutes. So something earlier than that's regarded legitimate. But yeah take a scan in a couple of days & don't forget to make use of first morning urine. Good good fortune Edit: Read the instructional materials that got here with the scan. But I understand something after the cut-off date is regarded invalid on account that there may be constantly a Chance of an evaporation line even though I learn that their has been plenty of evaporation traces with first reaction inside the cut-off date..

you shouldnt really look after about 10 minutes. go get another test and do it first thing in the morning. if it is a very faint line then you are pg. a line is a line. just try again and go from there

the same exact thing happened to me..I have a one year old now..LOL
I tested it was negitive, i threw it out.. 3 HOURS later i looked in the trash at it(it was still on the top) and there was sucha faint line there you could barley see it... the next day.. a little darker line but still very faint.. and the next day the same.. by the 4th day it was still faint but confirmed by the Dr..

The exact thing happend to me I thought it was negative an put it in the trash and later when I was in ther I saw two lines. LOL So funny so yeah you are prob pregnant, my "negative" baby is now 4.
