you would want a different size of stripe like a wide stripe or wide spaced stripe shirt with a pen striped suit that has small stripes. When you match a tie go solid color b/c you can't have 3 stripes you need two matching and one different. As for the color you will want to match the shirt to one color of the pen stripe so a white bith blie or red stripe. Of course you know red, blue, white, gray, or black so;id color shirt would look nice also.

it is not okay to wear vertical striped pattern along iwth pin stripe. You look way to busy. If you are going to wear the pin strip suit than consider a baby blue solid dress shirt, or even a white solid shirt. The pinstrip suite will make you look sharp. Vertical is bad enough as it is already but having it in a striped pattern made it even worst. Consider getting rid of that shirt for good already.

I would try to avoid a pin striped shirt but I would say get a red or blue to bring out the colors in the suit.

RE:
Striped shirt with a pin stripe suit?
I have a black suit with very very faint blue and red pin stripes that alternate. My question is would it be ok to wear a dress shirt which also has a vertical striped pattern?
If so what color would you suggest for the shirt and what color for the stripes on the shirt? Thanks for your help!

It really depends on how faint the stripes really are. Do you have to look really close to tell, or can someone tell fairly quick that the pin stripes are there? But, it is possible if you wear black and red striped shirt to pull it off.

first of all wt made u buy the blue and red suit
anyways no pinstriped shirt
u will look like a pinstriped .........man
if the lines in the suit r really faint ten perhaps u cld go for a red or blue shirt not in a very solid color to bring out the stripes
and if u dont wanna bring out the stripes go for a subtle color shirt somthing like a very light blue
white will a also qork but as a second option
go for colors which match the red and blue
dont go for somthing like green

Generally, a solid colored shirt under a striped jacket.
A white cloth striped cotton shirt is ok, (that is the cloth varies in thickness, but not colored stripes).

It might be okay if the shirt is dark with light stripes too...but it might almost be better to do a solid color...like burgandy to bring out the red stripes in your suit. I'd have to see it to "yes that's perfect" or "no way...something better" Sorry I couldn't be more help.
