Had he committed enough money and troops to Iraq to begin with, then we would not have this unfortunate current situation. All of the generals asked for them, but he refused to give them. Why is it so difficult to listen to the people with expertise? I especially expected better military support from a Republican.

Max: I guarantee I could do better. There's just one small problem, I can't get appointed. I'm 20 years old and have no connections to this administration. I don't have any idea what goes on? This may be true, but I guarantee I'm more informed than you are. Also, what book are you talking about? If you're trying to make a coherent argument then at least finish what you're trying to say.

He's not incompetent, if you think you could do better I fully encourage you to try. Anyway, you really dont have much of an idea of what actually goes on in the white house so just shut off. As soon as youre proven wrong when you read this book that came out maybe you can come in here and tell everyone youre not "political" anymore.

Rumsfeld did listen to some generals.
Maybe he listened to the wrong ones.
AND MAYBE NOT.
Only a few retired generals came out to criticize Rummy, they didn't do it while they were in power.
They may be playing politics.
