Weather patterns, and the resulting changes in atmospheric pressure, often induce pressure headaches in people. Low pressure storm systems are the most common cause. The lowered atmospheric pressure affects the fluid inside joints. This fluid expands, stiffening joints, aggravating nerves, and causing muscles to tense up in response. Resulting headaches typically occur the day before or the day it rains. Unfortunately, you cannot escape atmospheric pressure changes.

I get more of a pressure headache, right before it rains. But as soon as it starts, then I'm all better. I think I'm sensitive to the pressure changes.

I do. I've had sinus problems pretty much all my life. I've always assumed that the headache that comes with rain is a sensitivity to atmospheric pressure changes. I have no science to base it on; just a guess.

Yes, I sure do! I think it's because of the change in the ions in the air; we have a reaction to the 'heavy' air all the humidity creates.
A lady today told me to put pressure with two fingers high on the bridge of your nose ( like right between your eyes) and it relieves sinus pressure.
My Mom taught me an acupressure point that helps most any headache > spread you thumb open away form the other fingers, with 2 fingers from the other hand, put them, on that connective tissue ( sort of like the webbing between your thumb and forefinger. one finger on top, one below. Gently apply pressure. I had had migraines and have done this, lying down, and can actually feel it fading away.
Good Luck !

It could be a mold allergy. When it rains, the mold count tends to be high. Some people sneeze like with pollen, but others get headaches. (I tend to get a little of both !)

Hi Amy,
Everytime the weather changes I have a migraine. I use prescription drugs for these & when the drugs don't work/help I smoke a joint. My doctor is a where of this & has said maybe someday he'll be able to write a prescription for it (medical marjuana). This works everytime. I've done Ace inhibitors to prevent them with no luck & have taken several different prescription drugs for migraines including Imatrex. They have head-on it's like a roll on you put on your forehead it works on tension headaches. Currently taking Fiorinal.
Have a good day!

Probably sinus. Changes in the barometric pressure can sometimes trigger sinuses to react, causing headaches, stuffiness, etc.

I do too, think it has something to do with atmospheric pressure
