I am a mom and a teacher. Children, girls today are developing at a much younger age. They are hitting puberty sooner, thus the breast development, menstruation etc... I don't think it is too early to shop for a bra. It can be a fun event for the two of you and there are many kinds to choose. Allow her to have a say in what she wants. Besides, she'll be the first in her crowd and be the envy of the other girls. Make it a positive, fun, mom-daughter event! Good luck!

Start with a training bra. Iit's not about what age your daughter starts wearing a bra, it's about when she begins developing. It happens at different ages for every girl. Most girls are wearing bras by 5-6th grade. How does she feel about it? If she wants one- by all means go get her one. Are her friends wearing them too? She wants to fit in and be like the other girls I'm sure. Wearing a training bra even when ther'es nothing to "train" doesn't hurt anything anyway. Go for it!

If she's starting to develop, then yes, it would be a good time to go bra shopping. I got my first one at the end of grade 4. I did get teased A LOT for wearing a bra, but I got teased before that for having breasts too. Unfortunately the kids will most likely tease her no matter what,so be sure to be supportive (I wish I could tell you some good stuff to say, but I'm at a loss) Good Luck!

I know personally that I didn't wear a bra even when I was obviously showing and looking back I wish I should have because I have recieved embarrasing comments back then. It's extremely tough to be the first one to develop in her class and at first bras are not very comfortable but in the end it will save a lot of embarrasment when everything is in place.

I'm not a mom, but I remember most of the girls in my 4th grade already had training bras. I didn't and I felt really left out. And if this was when I was a kid, imagine how early they start wearing them now!

Don't be surprise if she startes her period when she is 10-11yrs.old...Alot of girls now a days, are growing up to fast.I have 2 daughters myself, and i know how things gos for girls at least. I hope i was helpful. A Friend...

No this is not too young. In fact, I was in 4th grade when I got my first training bra. I have no children of my own, but I remember being teased when I started to develop. Even one of my friend's mom used to tease me. I still remember it like it was yesterday and I'm 26 now. Trust me, your daughter will thank you later.

Definitely not. That is when most girls start getting bras. If you don't let her, she will constantly be teased by both girls and boys, and it might possibly make her insecure about her body. I had a friend who wasn't allowed to shave her legs until she was 14, and she would get teased about it every time she wore shorts. Even now, she wears pants in the summer because she is so insecure about her legs. We are 18 now.

It's never too young to get your young daughter a training bra- espcially if she's starting to develop. It will make her less self-conscience and keep her friends/peers from teasing her. It's basically like wearing a looser sports bra, really. Just don't get her anything padded! Good luck!

If she is starting to show a little bit ( the puffy nipple syndrome) than it is not time to start thinking about getting a bra, it is time to get a bra. And if it is something that her friends are noticing and they are comfortable talking about it then it is also time to start talking about periods, and how to be treated by boys and how to act like a lady and the sex thing.
