My mom was in the hospital on my birthday. She died a week later. When dad and I was cleaning the house before the funeral, he found a wrapped package under the bed and said it was from her for my birthday. It was a bell I had said I liked, and she ordered it for me. When I brought it home, I told my husband and son that if the bell ever got broke, heads will roll! It has been almost 20 years, I still have the bell, and if anyone goes near the bell, even to look at it, they repeat what they were told so many years ago. The bell has it's own home on the shelf, and it is the most precious gift I own.

A claddagh ring owned by my wife. She wore it while we were dating. She took it off after we were married. Unfortunately my wife died of cancer two years ago. I wear her ring around my neck and I find myself touching it when I am stressed out...it helps calm me down and smile at all the great times we had. A little maudlin I know but that ring is the most precious material possessionI own.
