I work at an Exterminating Company, so I know a few things about spiders. The best thing to use to get rid of them is a bomb/fogger. Any other spray could damage your walls, since that is where most spiders make their webs. However, it is not going to be affective over a period of time, & you could, and most likely will, have spiders again. If you do have other bugs in the house, do take care of them. This could lessen your chances of having a spider problem.

If you have spiders it's because you haver other bugs too. Stop poisening the earth with harsh chemicals!! Use a mild insecticidal soap and clean your house so the bugs that are serving as the spider's lunch won't want to hang around.

The ones we have here in southern NJ just get mad and say, "Hey - waddaya doin' that for?!" when you use regular bug spray on 'em. I sprayed ant and roach killer in the corners of my sunroom. A few hours later I heard reggae music and tiiiiiny voices saying, "man, that was some great sh!t!"
I'm about ready to call in a professional. I hope Terminix carries a flamethrower....
