Yes he can. The wife has history and a lifetime of memories with this man. Maybe children and a home not to mention debt. The wife has been through lots of bumpy roads with this man and is usually ready to endure more. Alas the man is bored of old reliable and wants a new experience. This is were the mistress comes in. She is all that is new and what he might have had if he had taken a different road. She does not have the complications of the wife or the attachment of monetary needs. This relationship is different. Sometimes the man knows he cant leave and hopes that the mistress will either stay or he will give the illusion that eventually he will. It is not likely though. In that marriage there is too much to lose. From custody to property to a lifetime of hard earned memories the husband comes to that reality once the mistress starts to ask when the curtains dont have to be drawn or when they can go to dinner in the town that they live in and not 60 miles out of the way. Eventually the mistress wants a life with this man. He might love you but that is not everything in this case.

Yes a man can love his wife and mistress. Actually he may love several women but they may not all feel that was about him. Now to read between the lines. Does a man normally love his mistress enough to leave his wife. The answer is normally No. The man has to much to lose to the wife if he leaves her. Sometimes the man will give up his wife for his mistress, but normally the financial losses are to great to leave the wife no matter how much he loves the mistress.

He will say he can...but I doubt it. I have always been popular with women( this is not to brag or anything like that...my popularity was born from my respect), but I never have been able to love two at once. Certainly you can have sincere devotion and care for another...but not love.
The one he loves the best is the one he truly loves...maybe, (who will be second).
The man who has a wife and a mistress will hardly have enough love to go around for three. After all the position of having more than one woman strongly suggest that he loves himself first...and best.

What he feels for his wife and what he feels for his mistress are two different things. But in most cases, the husband won't leave his wife for his mistress.

Affairs as they are will absolutely mess your life and the lives of those affected. There is no easy, painless way to handle an affair. It seems great at first and after a time it eats at you to the point of where you must make a decision. When our decisions are based on emotional answers we are unable to see the forest for the trees, making our decision becomes an emotional guess.
Been there, done that. You might still be in the 'happy stage' of the affair. It like anything else never lasts. It will truly run it's course and it will truly hurt you and the rest. No doubt about it.

Well it's possible that he has some sort of love for both of them. But chances are neither one of them are that Deep Lasting Passionate I Can't Live With Out You Love. Cuz if that were the case, then he would ONLY be with that person and there would be noone on the side. Because he would LOVE her so much he would NEVER want to lose her.
and dont listen to that crap about men are "programed" to have more than one wife! Thats a load of crap! SURE THEY DO IT IN SUM COULTERS! But NOT ours! and besides God created ADAM and EVE. Not ADAM and EVE and JULIA.....lol

No he can't. It has been stated in other cultures a man has many wives. Look at how they reat their wives though. We love ourselves (or should) and a healthy person would not harm themselves, so if you love your wife, why woukd you want to hurt her? The love a parent has for their children is very different to the love a man has for his partner. A man who has a mistress is shallow, does not love either his wife, himself or the mistress and a pretty good liar as he will justify his actions to everyone. A man who is truly in love with his wife has no need for anyone esle.

Yes, he can love them both, but not equally- We have the capacity to love many people, but only one can be our true love- I am guessing if a man has a wife and a mistress than his own true love is himself.

NO. If he has a mistress he doesn't love his wife in the first place and I doubt what he feels for his mistress is anything more than misguided lust
