its a peer to peer client sharing program, which makes the sharers liable for any losses that the artist loses when they don't buy the song, so yes, you are stealing the music, or pirating it, and it doesn't matter if you give a copy of it to your friends, for they're not the one's who downloaded the song illegally
therefore, yes, it is illegal to download songs and burn them without selling them, the artist makes no money when you download the song off of LimeWire since you don't pay for the song to begin with; therefore, you would have to sell them actually to make up for the artists loss, but you can't pay the artist; so it doesn't matter so long as you're not caught

It's illegal if you make a profit from it. Sharing files is fine, putting them onto a disk is fine but selling the disk isn't.

Yes, downloading the songs are already considered illegal as you don't have the copyright to do that (coz you didn't pay anything for it!).

no...as long as you dont "share" the music you are downlaoding with others. when you set up your account it will ask you if you want to share your files, you dont.
