LOL, I have to say that your question has brought back memories. The school I attended as a child did in fact celebrat Arbor Day Faithfully. All of the kids got to plant something that day and I have to say I was thinking about that a few weeks ago. After seeing all the trees being taken down for businesses, I hang onto the fact that people do plant still and I am one of them. I really than you for your question, good memories here!

I did it way back in my early youth, say around 1960-somethin', when I first heard of it. I planted 3 Silver Maples, and watched them grow and transplanted them from the flower pot to the ground after a few years. I have always loved trees and all their beauty, and so, after all these decades, many of which I never planted another tree, I was finally able to buy 122 acres of BEAUTIFUL woodlands, and make absolutely sure no one cut them down again in my lifetime. So, I may not plant a tree on Arbor day any more, but I literally have a forest to look after, so, I figure I'm doing my part. Please do plant a tree on Arbor day or any day. You'll remember them for all the rest of your life, and you'll love trees like you've never loved them before. God Bless you.

Sure - there are festivals in cities and towns everywhere, all you have to do is bring a tree or just help plant trees already donated.
