I would like to take a cutting from a dwarf cherry tree. How do I do that?

New growth, 6 to 8 inches long. Strip lower leaves. Dip in rooting hormone. Plunk into light potting mix. Water. Place in Ziplock bag. Watch for leaves. New leaves mean root growth. Plant in ground next spring.

You can not take a cutting from just any old tree and expect to grow another tree!! You are thinking of grafting which is removing a bud from one and grafting it to another tree. This is very hard to do unless you have experience.. You CAN NOT take a twig from a tree and make it grow,, no matter how much fertilizer you put on it!! That is why God and/or nature created those little things called seeds, nuts, flowers etc,,,,
