I actually recently watched a video on the origins of meth at school. It first became an epidemic in Portland, Oregon. Meth has been progressing through the united states from west to east.

Midwestern states had it first---because anhidris ( sp?) is readally available in the farming comunity. Plus Iowa has had more Meth busts last year then any other state. Also alot of abandoned houses and barns in midwest are used as Meth houses.
But I am wondering why you want to know? are you just curious or what?

I started seeing a lot of news about it in Hawai'i about 10 years ago, that might have been the first place. California is another possibility, people who made it went out to isolated areas of the desert and started making it there a real long time ago. Those two states seem like the likeliest places it hit first.

DId you know it was dispensed to our troops in Korea in the 50's? Japan had an epidemic in the early 50's too.

I think Calif. then Missouri according to meth lab busts, crimes related to meth, and calls for child protective services due to meth.
