We're heading to Cape Cod next week for a vacation and would like to find a place for good lobster and seafood at a reasonable price...anyone have any suggestions? And Red Lobster isn't a good one!

We'd also like to know a few fun places to visit maybe around the Cape, Boston or Hartford areas. We'll be in and around the New England states (MA, CT, etc).

You've got quite a few depending on your fancy.

For seafood, there's a ton of places. Check out some of the winners of boston's chowderfest for ideas at the cape.

As for the drive,

There is a Pizzeria in New Haven, Connecticut called Frank Pepe's which has one of the oldest brick oven stoves in use, is great. It has been there since the 1920's and has THE best pizza in the world! Even Wikipedia has an entry for Pepe's!

Further east near New London and Mystic are Mystic Seaport and Mystic Acquarium and Mystic Village. Near there's the Groton Sub base. And of course, Mystic Pizza's near by there as well.

If you go up to Hartford, you've got the Mark Twain house.

If you've not been, Lexington and Concord are about an hour outside Boston.

That should give you a start!

Right now you can drive around CT to see some great foliage. Check out some landmarks and toursit spots in Boston- The Freedom Trail, eat some italian food in the North End "Little Italy" area, Fanueil Hall, tour Fenway Park, etc, etc. . . As far as Cape Cod goes, there are some delicious seafood palces just about everywhere you go. Falmouth has some good restaurants on Main Street which is where all the shops are. In Hyannis there is a great place called The Lobster Pot. . .Basically anywhere I've gone has always been good, mostly in those two cities though. . .

P.S. In MA we don't have ANY Red Lobsters :)

ohhh so many places, not sure where to start. If you are looking for seafood/good food definitely head to the cape. I had the most excellent dinner in Falmoth, it was a little Italian restaurant in the main strip. It was the only one so it should be pretty easy to find. Dennis was also great, and they have a number of great restaurants there as well.

If you are in Boston, there are many great places to find food. There is little Italy, where there are a number of great restaurants, including dessert at Mikes Pastries. They have cakes, cookies and gelato that is just to die for. A super romantic place to eat is at the top of the Prudential building, this is in the downtown area and one of the larger buildings in the skyline. They had wonderful food and incredible views of the city. The waterfront has a number of wonderful restaurants as well, if you are looking for a quick bite, definitely stop by Quincy market.
