Usually CSU extension/satellite campuses have different standards and may be willing to work with you. You're not that far from a 2.00 so I'm sure it won't be a problem. You'll probably be accepted on a probationary basis, but you can avoid all that if you do well this semester and complete CSU certified courses. Do not drop classes! If it was a UC it would be a whole different story... not a good one.

Not to dash your hopes, but you don't even have a C average in high school. It doesn't matter that you're bringing up your average now, you should have done that a year ago. The transcripts you send in will not reflect the change in grades.

It may be a good idea so that you can definitely secure acceptance by going to a community college for a year. This will give you some extra cushion and show admissions officers that you're serious.

You should talk to a school guidance counsellor, either at your high school or a community college in your choice. With a GPA of 1.97 (C-), your admissions will not be a cookie-cutter decision. You will also need to take the ACT or the SAT. Please consult with the information ont he CSU admissions webpage.

why dont you talk to a guidance counselor or a collage advisor.. i highly doubt that you will get into anything this year but go to a community college and bring up your grades and transfer next year. how could you go so long with such a low GPA.. you should have worked to bring it up YEARS ago

Best bet would be community college and then look to try and transfer if you do good enough.

How could you even graduate with a 1.97? Are you even able to answer this question?
