KARACHI, (AFP) - Former Pakistani Test cricketers and fans Friday called for Darrell Hair to quit as an umpire or be sacked after captain Inzamam-ul-Haq was cleared of ball tampering.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan said Thursday the PCB wanted an investigation into whether Hair himself brought the game into disrepute.

Darrell Hair has always proved himself through his conduct that he is, in the truest sense of the words, an extremist, a terrorist, a racist, (you name any superlative in such negative words and he will make himself perfectly fit in). We have seen this all in the Oval episode of his career.

We have unfortunately also seen how ICC have supported him all along. Even when the news came about his demand of $ 500,000, as a precondition to quit, ICC Chief announced it with the words like 'how much under stress he (Hair) was while writing this email'. Had he (Hair) been an Asian origin, could anyone imagine that he would have escaped like he has? Hell would have broken in the entire world of Cricket against him.

Turning to your question that the former Pak cricketers and fans demand Hair to quit, they are very innocent people (bholay). Do they expect Hair will quit on their demand? And do they think PCB Chairman's demand for an investigation against Hair will be met? No, never. ICC is never going to do anything against him. They are still singing the song of his being the 'best umpire in the world'.

If they are serious enough in their demand, I would suggest they run a nation-wide campaign to gather funds for Hair ($ 500,000). The brave Pakistani nation has proved on a number of occasions that they can gather much more than Hair's demand. And when there is as noble a cause as getting the world rid of evils like 'Hair', they can do much more.

I feel demand for an investigation and enquiry in the matter is just and peoplle should stick to it rather than demanding Hair to be thrown out etc.
