do you think that it is hard/competitive in getting a job teaching english in high school in USA after I get my teaching certificate? Im going to graduate with a teaching lisence next year, but I dont know about the job market. If someone knows about it, then can you please answer my question? I want to know if it is hard to get a job teaching english in HS.

no, they need teachers allover the place...I work for a school district and we have more positions open and need filling then we do actaul people to fill them. Good luck with your career...you may a good choice!

It all depends on many factors, especially where you want to teach. Urban school districts always have a high demand for teachers, but I think jobs at suburban schools are harder to come by. If you're willing to teach at a high needs school, you'll have no trouble finding a position. But if you want to work at a very successful school, you'll find much more competition.

If the market is competitive, you'll want more than a certificate. Think about a comprehensive BA or BSc program followed by a BEd in Elementary Education. It will be six years well-spent.

every where here, for the most part are in dire need of teachers. understand, that you will have to take the board certified exam for whatever state you plan on teaching in. good luck with that. high school..........wow, you're brave.

It might be hard if you want to teach at a certain school or area, but if your open to relocation it shouldn't be to difficult.

It is easier to get a position teaching English if you can spell "license" correctly.

they should advertise in canada then. because there are more teachers than jobs here right now.
