When you're awake, your brain remembers every little thing that happens, however unimportant - every word you say, every word you hear, every mouthful of food you eat, every face you see, EVERYTHING. So..., at the end of the day, the brain gets clogged up with all this stuff it doesn't need, so it sifts through it all and chucks out the useless stuff and files the rest into memory. It needs to close down while it does this; in other words, you go to sleep. You percieve the process as a dream, especially if you wake up while it's going on.
In the sense that some things are important to you and some things are not, then yes, dreams can have a meaning. I'm not saying you have secretly been with Shania Twain, but there's some sort of association of ideas there. The brain is VERY complicated, and works in strange ways sometimes!

Personally I don't believe in those books and websites where several things are listed as "symbols" and claimed that those things always represent something particular in everyones dreams. But I do believe that in some of our dreams there are things that reflect what's going around in our minds. I believe you can learn a lot about yourself if you pay attention to your nightly endeavors, especially to what you feel and think during them. Other persons can only interpret your dreams if they know (or if they are good in what they do, they can guess) things about you and your life, but even then the interpreters views and values can usually be seen in the result. However, sometimes you need just that kind of interpretation to open your own eyes.
About your dream... did you like it? Aww, come on, you can admit it... you are among friends now, just say it aloud :)

Im not sure if dreams carry meanings or not. I do know that dreams are what we think about at night and they usually have some relevance to what happened that day or even week. i also know that you cannont predict dreams as dreams are subliminal. so if someone tells you you will dream about something then you wont.
