If it was me, I wouldn't feel bad about hitting him.
But on the other hand you can't let your emotions control your actions-by all rights he had the right to have you arrested for domestic violence(the guys can't hit girls rule is no longer in existence and there is a new rule that says that girls can't hit guys either.)
In my book if a girl hits a guy she should expect to get hit back just the same as if she hit another girl. If you have the nerve to hit someone, you better be prepared to take it back.

guilty! you should not feel a bit of guilt! he's lucky to have a girl like you because had that been someone else he would have...well lets just say he would have received more than a slap across the face. do not let him make you feel guilty. you should use this time that he is not speaking to you to figure out what you want. he is the one that did you wrong. you should not even be thinking about him right now this is you time. Stay strong, stand your ground on your beliefs and morals, and if he finally decides to speak to you consider what you decided, to stay or to leave the relationship and go with that. If you decided to stay know that trust will be an issue but if you decided to leave keep that choice and don't let the come back to me talks and flowers make you change your mind!!

Here's a contradictory answer for a complex situation: Yes, it's wrong to hit anyone. Violence creates more violence, no matter how minor it may seem. But should you feel guilty? Hell no. As long as this is a one time event (and not a pattern in your relationships) I'd say you chalk it up to a horrible experience. He doesn't deserve another minute of your time, whether it's feeling guilty or stewing about his cheating. People who cheat once will do it again, so unless the circumstances are extraordinary, when someone cheats, it's time to move on.

Right on girl! Some women are to soft to slap their playboy boyfriends who just toy around with everything in a women form boobs to feelings. You definitley should not feel guilty. Find a guy who will stay commited and will not pressure you for sex. When I get a girlfriend, I won't even think about cheating. You know, there's more to a girl than sex with her, and you definitely deserve more respect! And if my girlfriend cheated, I wouldn't hit her because of that rule, but I would definitely not feel guilty for anything! hope you find someone honest! Man! I was about to give you a piece of my mind until I found out that that jerk had cheated! That acquits you of all charges. I'm actually glad you did it!! Find a Good Guy. Good Luck, and God Bless!
P.S./ you know all the pictures he took with you? burn em! It'll get his picture out of your head. And you know all the stuff you borrowed from him or he gave to you? Give it to charity. It will help keep him out of your heart! Good Luck!

should of kicked him while you were at it too. Do not feel that you did something wrong, because hes the one that did something wrong. snap out of it girl! you dont deserve left overs, the best thing is to leave him, dont bother with him no more. unless you want to put up with a guy who wants you but not just you anyother girl he would like on the side. if you have any respect for youself, you should be so happy you found out now before it got more serious. he needed a slap, he needed worse than that if you ask me. so please dont feel any guilt at all, you did a good thing and i am happy you found out so now you can move on and find someone who respects you.

I would have probably done the same thing. There is nothing to feel bad about in my opinion, you had an instant reaction to something that hurt you....you cant just turn your feelings on and off...Good luck with it, I hope everything works out for you.

You should be thankful that he hasn't talked to you since...it'll make it easier to dump him.
I'm not a fan of 'violence' but why are you the one feeling guilty when he is the one that did something unforgivable.
