For some reason, I can't stand following rules. Whenever a rule is presented to me, I want to break it just because I'm not supposed to. It's not for attention or anything, because no one ever knows when I break the rules. (I'm very discreet.) But I get a little personal high whenever I do something that's against the rules, just for the pleasure of "getting away" with something naughty, wrong, forbidden, whatever you want to call it.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm some evil criminal or anything. In fact, most people who meet me say I'm one of the nicest people they've ever met.

So is this problem with authority and rules a somewhat common phenomenon?

I have no problem following rules, but at the same time I do question rules and authority figures a lot. I found out early on that it does not pay to fight city hall: you are branded as a troublemaker and you lose privileges and wealth every time you do it. But, whenever I think a rule or custom is wrong, I question it, beginning with the enforcer and going right up the chain of command to whomever has the power to change it.
