Scandisk is a part of the Windows operating system. As the name implies, it scans the hard drive (disk) for errors. Older versions of Windows did not allow a file name with more than 8 letters, and apparently you have one on your computer. You must run Scandisk from the command line and check the options to fix errors, otherwise, it will only advise you of the error.
Click Start, Run, and type scandisk in the box, hit enter and when the option menu comes up check the box to fix errors.
