they shouldn't, but if that's the rules, then oh well! make sure you drink LOTS of cold water before hand, to help keep your body cool. then immediately after it's done, you can bust out the shorts!

If you are referring to a high school band member - yes. The band must be uniformed properly and play in all kinds of weather conditions - hot and cold. However, if it is very hot out, you should not be made to march for a long distance without stopping for water and a chance to get under shade. Usually parades are a couple of miles and it doesn' take long. If you have a medical condition that would make it dangerous for you, be sure to mention this to your band director.

Ummmm this is an easy one NO. it's called heat stroke/exhaustion/god knows what else that type of heat would do to you when wearing wool, may I ask what will the teacher/bandleader be wearing??? they usually have different outfits for different weather if this is not an option I would first of all alert your mom or dad about this and second I would not do it for a million bucks its not worth ruining your health to play a stupid song

Men and women just a couple of years older than you are wearing full combat armor and carrying 60 lbs of gear and a rifle, and the temperature in Iraq makes your 90 look weak!
Suck it up and be tough. you could be at war in a few years yourself!

Stop your complaining. When it's 30 degrees outside for a Friday night football game and you're freezing, are you going to complaing on here that it's not thick enough? You chose to be in band, now be dedicated to it and don't half-a$$ it.

You volunteered for band. You have to do what is required. Plus this question would serve you better if it were directed to your band director.

this is a challenge to the designers; they should make band uniform for all weather. while they ponder on that, i think for harmony, uniform is a must regardless of the weather

Shouldn't this question be put to your school officials and not complete strangers who have no control over what happens at your school? If you think its wrong, then start the process to change it.

If it is for a competition or a game, you will appreciate that suit in time. It's part of the role play. Hang in there.

no, i know how it feels. but the stiffness creates a more pressed and clean look ... it's just something that us marching band members have to endure.
