its liquid iron and the seat of the earths magnatism, also it also makes the earth as heavy as it is - source of gravity; so without it the earth would not be the size it is today; Venus and Mars both have cores, but they are not such a high percentage of Iron

Assuming you mean the Earth's core? I think it's unique in that it is liquid iron, at a very high pressure and temperature.

It's hotter and more dense than the rest of the earth---practically a solid because it's under so much pressure.
