It's too expensive and the only real reason we did it back then was to beat the Russians to it. If we had that type of competition now we would be much closer to Mars landing.
As far as IF we landed, this can be proven by the fact there is a laser reflector planted there that measures the distance from some laser beam in Washington of Alaska to the moon. SO if we never landed there, who set up the reflector?

12 people have walked on the Moon.
Computer technology is more advanced today, but rocket technology is not. It is like cars that way. A computer 30 years ago cost a thousand times as much as now but was less capable, but a car cost less (without adjusting for inflation) and had about the same capability as one today. So the idea that we could easily go back to the Moon with modern technology is just as wrong as the idea that we could have flying cars today.

There are some fairly dodgy pics from the supposed moon walks.
One that springs to mind is the famous one of the astronaut standing facing the camera, in which you can see the horizon ( in sharp focus) reflected in his visor, but behind him the horizon is out of focus. This seems very strange considering a camera lens doesn't have two focal lengths at the same time. Either infinity ( ie the far distance) is IN focus, or it's OUT of focus. It can't be both at the same time.
There have been many other doubts cast about the authenticity of many of the pictures and films of moon landings and subsequent lunar excursions, and not all of them have been satisfactorily refuted by NASA .
Some people think the first few were fake, but the later ones were real. It makes for some interesting debate though, either way.

On Thursday, February 15th 2001 (and replayed on March 19), the Fox TV network aired a program called ``Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?'', hosted by X-Files actor Mitch Pileggi. The program was an hour long, and featured interviews with a series of people who believe that NASA faked the Apollo Moon landings in the 1960s and 1970s. The biggest voice in this is Bill Kaysing, who claims to have all sorts of hoax evidence, including pictures taken by the astronauts, engineering details, discussions of physics and even some testimony by astronauts themselves. The program's conclusion was that the whole thing was faked in the Nevada desert (in Area 51, of course!). According to them, NASA did not have the technical capability of going to the Moon, but pressure due to the Cold War with the Soviet Union forced them to fake it.

That's easy!
We can't land on the moon today because our government is more concerned with attempting to blast poor innocent civilians of middle east countries with lots of oil back to the Dark Ages with bombs and land mines. Until they figure out that they can't win (any more than the Soviets could) we will have to endure this.
Unfortunately, if we're not smart enough to wake up and stop them, they can blast our economy back to the Dark Ages too, and it will be much, much worse than the Depression.

The moon landing has never actually been proven or dis-proven (if that's a word). The whole thing came about because Russia already has a plan in place for space travel and a launching schedule. America cannot be beaten by this so a landing was "orchestrated" (apparently) to say that America was first in space. In any event, there hast been proof of the American flag on the moon. And you are right, with space travel being as complicated as it is, couldn't we have landed many many many times since?

Who said we can't? I think NASA is concerned with things other than the moon. How could we have developed a space station in outer space, a telescope able to see to the ends of our universe, and take samples from the surface of Mars and not land on the moon?

Yes they walked on the moon and we can do it today it just a matter of cost. Do we really need to spend money to send them there again what will we get from it.

I don't think anyone has ever been on the moon. I always figured they filmed the walk in hollywood on a sound stage.

It's not that we can't. It's VERY expensive, and since we were there, and didn't find anything of importance, we're working on going to other planets.
