Yesterday, I went to a theme park.
Rollercoasters give you that awesome rush of adrenaline.
The only ride I can't stand is Drop Zone (the idea of allowing yourself to free-fall is completely insane).
The last time I rode Drop Zone (in April), I had an extreme emotional breakdown before the actual ride, but I rode it anyways.
Yesterday, I got on the ride and my body became really tense. I started to tremble and tears started to roll down my eyes (I wasn't crying; I was just freaking out). After all that, I eventually ended riding Drop Zone.
The only parts that freak me out are: before the ride, sitting and waiting to be lifted, and suspending at the top waiting to fall.
Going up and the actual fall really isn't that bad.

Well, I'm trying to ask: Does it make me a wimp if I completely freak out about Drop Zone but then toughen up and ride it anyways?

It speaks volumes that you followed through with the actual ride. The only way to conquer your fears is to face them head on and on your terms. I was once terrified of complete darkness. I wanted study photography for a long time, but the darkness I would have to face seemed overwhelming. In order to participate in the course, I would need to learn about processing and that requires a "black room" not a "dark room" with the red light you always see in movies. I took the class and the payoff was huge! No more issues with complete darkness, and I loved the class!

You're not a wimp if you tried to go through with it. Courage is not the absence of fear, but

Wimpy? no a wimp would have left. You are brave, especially because you were soooo darn scared.

No, we all have our limits. As Harry Callahan said "A man has to know his limitations".
