The first video was taken by a camera mounted on the outside of the LM. Armstrong activated it himself by pulling a string that was attached to it and tied off at the top of the ladder. Later, when both astronauts were on the surface, they took the camera off the LM and put it on a tripod a few yards away looking back at the LM.

Neil pulled a cable release which allowed the video camera to swing down so it could film his descent.

The man on the moon held the camera while Armstrong climbed down. When it was all done, they celebrated. They had a bar-b-q, drank beer and watched the shooting stars. Now THAT is the honest truth. *rolls eyes*
