If so, would you recommend it? How many miligrams were in the pill and when did you take it?
I don't want to use regular sleep aids, I would prefer using an herbal supplement.

I have, but don't remember the mg dose. All I remember is that every time I took it I had nightmares. Sure, I got to sleep, but it wasn't a great sleep. I would suggest you try Melatonin 3mg at bedtime. It aids in sleep without the side effects. There are smaller doses, both 1 mg and 2 mg, so use your own judgment. Melatonin is a natural substance that your brain responds to,and your body chemistry secretes. Valerian isn't naturally in our body.

The choice is yours and my personal experience is a single opinion, but it's what I have to offer.

Take care And and consider all responses carefully.

i have used several herbal supplements for my insomnia, including valerian and kava kava. you need to be careful with herbal supplements because they are NOT FDA approved so the comany can put in the pills whatever they want. stuff like that usually causes liver or kidney problems down the road. your better off using a tylenol pm pill to sleep. its alot safer. hope this helps

Be careful with how much you take. It can be a hallucinogen if you take too much of it, from what I've heard. I have never tried it myself, but I've heard from others.
