and Michael Jackson might be wierd and creepy but back in the day he was makein' good music. i like his songs Billy Jean,Thriller and Bad. Plus Weird Al was makin some funny music like "Yoda", come on everybody likes Wierd Al deep down.

plus what bout` the beatles? they where from 1960-70 don't they sorta count? Like "hard days night","Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band","Yesterday","Hey Jude" and plenty more.

U2 have made some really good ones also like their album "The Joshua Tree"

There's a ton more, but, I only remember the song titles, but not the artist. If it's okay, then: Low Rider is a really great song! (Sorry, I don't know the band)

If you're looking for 80's pop, rock, or soul...definitely Michael Jackson. His music videos even make it better. Smooth Criminal, Beat it, and Thriller are my favorites.
