I've read the book, and I've seen some pretty nasty stuff that didn't bother me as much as I was told it would (Like Cannibal Holocaust and much worse), would this movie be allright for me to see?

I'm in an excelrated reading class also, and could understand the book, clear as crystal. I've also seen some pretty disgusting things, things that would make even some adults be horrified.

I have read the book many times and viewed the movie at least five times...I enjoy them both.
When it was first released, the movie was rated X, so they toned down a forced sex scene to get an R rating.
There is nudity, mainly topless women and the suggestion of violent sex, but it is the stylized violence that bothers most.
Here is some obscure trivia. The man who carries the wheelchair upstairs is David Prowse...who would later be in the first three Star Wars movies as Darth Vader.
How many chapters are in the book you read? The American versions have only 20, while in the UK they have all 21 (The movie is based on the 20 chapter version.
If you can find a book with the last chapter...it will shed a whole new light on the rest of the book.

Hmm.. it depends. If they're just dating for sexual crap or because everyone else is dating, it's stupid. But if they're actually mature and truly WANT to get to know the person and be with them, that's fine. But I honestly don't think 14-15 year old guys are mature enough or ready for a good relationship. Some of them are. I was 14, almost 15 when I went out with my first boyfriend and he was 16. This doesn't make me a ho, I was just more mature than guys my age and I actually LIKED the guy I dated and wanted to get to know him.

Stanley Kubrick never did much for me. The movie is violent. There is a home invasion that they do that is pretty graphic. I was 17, when I first saw it and that part stayed with me awhile. I can still picture it in my mind. All in all, I think that you would be OK. It may be a little over your head though, Kubrick was like that. You may not understand a lot of it.

This movie was originally rated X (now NC17) when it was first released.
This is one of my all time favorite films but I wouldn't let a 14 year old watch it. That's my opinion, anyway, droog.

Here is a perfect example of a double standard. I watched it when I was 14 BUT there is no way in hell I would let my 14 year old watch it.

No it is not. Unless of course you think it is alright for a 14 year old to see graphic rape scenes with foreign objects.

I would probably have to say no. I mean, sex and rape are two big themes in this movie, and I wouldn't want my kids to watch that movie until they were a bit older.

I would not recommend it for anyone under 17. The movie contains a lot of violence and strong language.

it's a violent, hard to digest movie with a lot of foul-mouthedness. if you don't have a problem with that, go ahead, you don't strike me as the kind of person who'd go out to beat people to a pulp afterwards. ;-)
