Don't rub. You'll make the bruise worse. Put ice on first to make sure the bleeding stops. Then use a wet used tea bag to place on the bruise. (I learned the teabag trick from a doctor I work with). Make sure the tea bag is not hot. You don't want a burn either.

bruising is caused when tiny blood vessels break beneathe the skin after a hard blow. You can't do anything to make it go away faster, rubbing hard will only make it worse. Wait and watch for the color changes red,purple,greenyellow-gone.It may take a few days to a week.

DO NOT RUB IT

A bruise is bleeding under the skin. Rubbing will spread the blood and possibly rupture it again.

Pineapple juice works. Drink a lot of it.

Bruises have to go away on their own. If you want to hide it, you might try makeup and putting powder over the makeup. Ice is good but that's about all you can do.

The only thing I have ever heard of is vinegar and brown paper bag. Now this is an old remedy and I have never used it so. Good luck.

Ice usually helps if you do it right after the trauma happens, if not try to cover it with make up.
