If mid term elections are just a referendum on the White House then may I inquire whether you suggested that Bill Clinton resign when the Democrats lost not only the House but also the Senate? Somehow I think that bit of logic escapes you. Or perhaps logic is over your head.

And what if the Republicans retain both the House and the Senate?

Don’t you just guts like lancelot?

They control all three branches of government?

The single largest provider of political information for most Americans is FOX NEWS, who openly advocate the conservative position.

The administration is the most secretive in the history of the country, in a clear effort to keep the American people in the dark as much as possible.

And yet, they whine about being cheated and misunderstood when the fact is that the truth is their enemy.

Your question:

As someone else said, that would just leave us with Beelzebub in the Oval Office.

Also, like an alcoholic, I think the Republicans should be allowed to hit bottom first. Otherwise they will blame all their failures on the Democrats and they (the DEMS) don’t seem to be able to stand up for themselves against the repub attack dogs.

wildthing -

That could be for the best. America works best when its government works least. And, its government works least when we have political gridlock. Except when there is a President like Clinton who can make the country great in spite of the opposition parties best efforts to sandbag him.

America is almost always at its worst when one party controls the ex and leg branches.

Democrats will not gain anything significant from the coming elections, if anything at all. The next president will also be a republican and the right wing revolution will continue!

One thing is certain - he won't get any of his pet legislation passed which means all the perks will dry up for all his buddies. He may as well resign because he'll be dead in the water.
