wow lets see. Looks are important and everyone knows it. But so is an intellectual guy who is confident, smiles, treats all girls with respect (even if he doesnt like them). Listens to what you say, sympathizes and makes connections (to be sure hes really listening). Clothing is key too--*I* dont like ghetto, goth, or emo styles but thats just ME. Casual, sporty, kinda preppy those are all good. (And an occasional baby blue shirt is soo cute) He can't be cocky though or make it seem like he's desperate for a girl. Paleness=blekh but so do those fake tans. Smelling good is a big plus; something subtle but aromatic. Being mature is very hot, especially when it comes to girly stuff he needs to suck it up. He shouldn't talk too much (like myself lol) but just enough to keep the conversation going. Eye contact is nice. And...not being gay (if ur lookin for a girl obviously). ILastly, the way you walk and compose yourself; walk like you own the place, dont look at the ground; if something emarrassing happens laugh it off. If you follow that ur on ur way to success. Hope I helped. Peace.

All of that is important. I don't think a tan is all that important. But the clothes tell you a lot, and how well he takes care of himself will show in his looks.
Beyond that first impression, guys who are easy to talk to and have a great sense of humor, but treat the girl with respect... that's what's important in starting a relationship.

Agreed, tans are dumb--why ruin your skin, and risk skin cancer.
Myself, and I'm coming from the perspective of a bit of age, looks are nice, and, to be shallow, I wouldn't want to be with a guy who was a complete dog, but character is most important (dress is pretty much a non-factor with me, as long as the clothes are clean and fit properly). How does he treat people? Does he lie? Can you count on him? Can he take care of himself, financially and otherwise? Is he willing to let his girlfriend be herself?
Other things important to me: sense of humor, intelligence, sense of adventure, being physically fit.

Only very young & shallow girls are so tied to a man's looks.
By the time you're 22 or so, you begin to see that WHO a person is means so much more than their hairstyle, clothes, or favorite music.
I was NEVER that shallow---I always went for guys that made me LAUGH!
If I was with Brad Pitt, and he couldn't make me laugh, I'd DUMP him.
Oh--the tan thing? I'd rather have a pale man that WON'T die of skin cancer when he's 50!

personally, i like guys that have medium length hair, more short, athletic, pretty tan, but not too tan, umm, soccer players are pretty hott right now, but preps are still cute, like hollister clothes, umm yeah, OH and how they smell is a big plus, like abercrombie or axe works good, someone who has a bit of stubbles growin on their cheeks and chin, like a look of maturity, they have to be sweet, and try to be all over a good guy soo good luck

There's something you need to know about girls. We are not visually stimulated like guys are. We like a good looking guy, but what turns a girl on is emotional connection. Guys who smile, who carry themselves with confidence, and who look them in the eye. Not staring without breaking contact, (that's creepy) but just stretching a brief glance into slightly more than that. Guys who treat us like we're important to them, even if they treat everyone else like that too. Girls are melted by guys who make them FEEL things. We're more about emotion than appearance. We want you to be clean, no odors please, and we like you to look like you dressed deliberately this morning, but some like prep, some like grunge, some like (ugh) cowboy. The way you treat them will prove to be much more magnetic for you than the way you look. (except for the clean, odorless thing)

Dressing? no longer slutty. Hair form? no longer some thing that resembles Snooki. personality? don't be a *****. Non-Dramatic? properly, if you're no longer a *****, you probable heavily isn't dramatic. Hair color? i do not truly care. fake Eyelashes? No. Spray Tan? Hell no. organic elegance? that's no longer continually eye-catching, you understand.
