For several decades, NORAD had standing orders to automatically scramble fighters immediately upon a report of any highjacking. In July of '01, "president" Bush changed that order. Under the new standing order, no scrambling was allowed without the express order from the Secretary of Defence (Donald Rumsfeld). This order stood for about 3 months...from 2 months before until a few weeks after 9/11. If this order had not been put into effect, fighters would have been scrambled and the planes would have either been escorted to the closest secure airport or shot down.

Regardless of who planned and executed the 9/11 attacks, and regardless of any intelligence available or not available, "President" Bush's order allowed 9/11 to happen.

That change of orders seems rather idiotic, doesn't it? An order for NORAD NOT to scramble in an emergency? Or perhaps it was part of the plan...after all, Bush has been shown to have a genius IQ (at least according to some).

Either the change was an idiotic order to the point of negligence, and this man shouldn't be in charge of our military, or it was intended...after all, the order was just given two months before....

If it was intended, that means that Bush was at least complicit in the attacks, in which case he should not be in control of our government.

Either way, he shouldn't be in control of our country!

boredstiff here obviously didn't read the question. If he had, he would have seen the real reason why 9/11 happened.

There's your source.

This June 1st update to the orders stopped all military
assistance in its tracks UNTIL approval from Donald Rumsfeld
(the "Secretary of Defense") could be granted -- which, by his
own admission, it was not. Rumsfeld claimed total ignorance of
the inbound aircraft that attacked the Pentagon (on the opposite
side of the building complex, where a construction project had
been underway).

Thank you for your insightful question. I didn't know this bit of information. This will surely bring nasty comments from the other side, because they don't want to see, or hear the truth.
The terrorists were trained in Florida. We the taxpayers paid for their flight training. Millions of people from around the world come here to go to college. We pay for that. That's why college tuition goes up every year.
The government uses our tax dollars however they see fit. We have no power over what they do once they are elected. They obviously do whatever they want without our approval also.
Most likely it was the plan all along. They seek to take our freedom from us. They claim they want smaller government in one breath, and the next they enact a new bill that makes smaller government impossible. We will be paying for Bush and company's mistakes for a very long time.

Well first i think u made some good points. But if u watched the 9/11 documentry's and the video's that were on tv this yr. U would see that it was Clinton fault. And here we are blaming Bush when Clinton knew about all this for the 93' attack. But at the last min stopped it. So that is why Clinton should get blamed. Not Bush. Yes I do not agree with the war. But i know why they are doing. They are making Iraq a better place.

The Clinton Body Count has been debunked over and over again. The only thing creepy here is the obsession with treating these things as though they are proven facts when they are not. Some people are willing to believe anything - even without real proof.

People always blame others for the mistakes they made. Blame is always a sure sign of giult. The republicans are laying the blame on clinton big time so who's fault do you think it was?

Clinton had from the first bombing of the WTC in 1993 until his departure from the White House in 2001 to do something about it. Who else would you blame?

Because people think someone needs to be blamed.

And for too long, he let them do it.
