sorry dude... I like 'em both.
Currently I have a pet rat. And I think snakes rock. Though they don't really desevre to be pets. I feel bad about my rat in a cage but the way I figure it she's better off with me then in some lab, a trap or a snakes belly. ; D

Rats are great. They make the best small pets. They are the smartest small pets, are very social and sweet. Everyone needs to give rats a chance.
(Snakes are cool too, but rats have such a bad rep, and it's sad. Educate yourselves people, they don't bite, or transfer disease anymore.)

I would have to say rats... they carry so much disease. It was rats that spread the black plague that took out 1/3 of Europe and Asia. (Actually, it was the fleas on the rats that carried the plague... but the fleas wouldn't have traveled out of Asia if the rats didn't carry the fleas onto trading ships...)
I don't mind rats as pets... just the ones that are running around in sewers and so forth.
