You seriously don't know this? Jack and his mother lived in a shack. They were very poor and had no money and little food. One day, his mother asked jack to take the cow to the market to sell it. On the way to the market, jack traded the cow with a stranger for som emagic beans. he returned home and told his mother. His mother was mad and threw the beans out the window. in the morning, there was a beanstalk.

Unfortunately Jack would be a bloody mess and only good for fertilizing the bean stalk. But we shouldn't think like that. It's a great story.

His mother sent him to town to sell the cow.
On the way, he met a guy who traded some "magic beans" for the cow.
When he returned home, his mom was so angry she tossed the beans out of the window.
The next morning one of the beans had sprouted into a giant beanstalk.
The rest is history.

His family was destitute and he was taking the cow (their only possession) to market to sell it. A traveler along the road offers him the beans in exchange for the cow. Jack agrees and takes crap for it from his mother.
