You can take it down and throw it in the washing machine. then hang it back up to dry. It works everytime.

Bleach in the washing machine on gentle. I add a t-shirt or something that I don't care about and when the wash is done hang the curtain up right away to avoid creases. Watch out for water when you pull the curtain out of the machine as you will end up with wet feet. lol

I don't know how long the mildew resistant treatment works.
Just take it down and launder it in a washing machine with 1/2 cup of bleach, hot water and your regular soap.

As long as it isn't a cotton type of shower curtain, mix some chlorine bleach with water 1:10 and wipe it down with the mixture. You could use a spray bottle and spray the curtain. Be sure not to get the bleach on any non colorfast materials. for example: your clothes

Same thing happened to me!! I washed it in the washing machine, but that didn't help. Best thing is to toss it and get a new one.
