I get tired of pretending with clients that I care when they go on and on about their church stuff.

By the way, the people I am referring to are clients so I have to be polite since they pay me to be there.

I had a job where I got really tired of clients rattling on and on about their kids. It bored me to tears. But I had to pretend to be interested in every little story about Junior soiling his diaper or sprouting a tooth.

I don't pretend anything. I am raw and real in all that I say and do... It is just me, take me or leave me... I am who I am... I know when you work with the public, you to a certain degree have to put on that certain persona, but I am a stay home mommy, so it is my way or else around here... LOL! I understand your complaint. I have been there lots of times.. But the best thing to do is just remember to do your best to be a good listener and once they are gone, let it go instead of letting it eat at you the rest of your day.... Best wishes... â¥

Too bad, the modern world demands pretense on all ocassions. What do you say to someone if you get a present you dislike? Would you pretend not to dislike your boss even if you hate him/her?

sure its gets annoying after a while. just tell them you're not very interested about what they're talking about. just try to change the subject
