it's risky no matter what. But, if your married or in a relationship already NO. If your looking for a date, just be careful when you meet in person. Never meet somewhere other than a highly public place. Never give out anything but your phone number, cell phone is the best because it's as easy as calling the phone company or looking it up on line to get an address of a home phone.
Just be careful! It worked for me but I was really careful and 2 years later we are still together.

okay, honestly ive been on the same page you have. to answer your question answer these honestly:

are you a minor?
...if so, is he?
(you need to make sure you would be ok if someone that age were to approach you in person)

have you talked to him on the phone?
...if so was it the same type of conversation you had online?
(talking on the phone is much different from the internet, and gives you an idea of how you'll talk when you meet)

Do you have a friend who can come with you to the place you are meeting?
...can you or that friend drive yourself?
(you need to meet in a public place, with a trustworthy friend, don't go alone, and drive yourself)

Do you feel like you need to lie to anyone (parents included!!) in order to meet them?
...if so, DON'T.
(you'll regret it i promise)

Has he made you feel uncomfortable when you talk to him online?
..if so, you may feel uncomfortable when you meet.

If you answered all the questions and still feel that meeting would be a good idea, then go for it. Just remember, 1) dont go alone. 2) meet in a public place. 3) be smart and leave if you feel uncomfortable 4) tell someone (besides the friend coming with you) where you will be and how they can contact you, check up with eachother.

meeting new people is awesome, and i dont want to sound paranoid, but i have been in a situation where i wish i followed those rules, but after i started to do that, i met some great friends using the internet. hope it helps! :)

Be careful, and i advise you to save the chats. You can be whoever you want to online, and so can he. If you save the chats and things dont add up, you can catch him out if he is lying. But there are some genuine, nice peole out there so have fun, heed the advice given about personal stuff and go careful. And the minute he starts demanding to see your cam...if he does...thats the giveaway to his real intention.
