My skin is pretty tan (probably medium or so) and its a very yellowish orange color. i tried to match it up with Loreal True Match in W5 (warm undertone, level 5) but even this color was too cool for me. it seems that if i needed an undertone, it would need to be hot! well i also tried Perscriptives on this site

and the yellow/orange beige color worked very well for me (i got a tester). But it was very expensive, about $30 and im trying to find a product at a drug store that would work for cheaper, around $10-$15 or something

Revlon and Maybelline are good brands to consider. Try the Colorstay or Wonder Finish range from each brand, respectively.

Personally, I believe it is worth to splurge a little on foundation and powder and buy other make up products from a cheaper brand. Using the correct foundation (color/texture) is very important for a polished look, so it's best to get a product that will match your skin perfectly.

MAC has a wide color range and I am sure you can find a matching shade. The prices are around $22 upwards.

Clinique has several foundations that range from $18.50 to $21.

Good luck!!

Most of the comments here already provided some good answers. I also believed the best way to find your colour is by asking a make-up artist.

When you try a more expensive foundation you can totally see and feel the difference. I have sensitive skin, so I use Clinique. I agree that its worth the money to get a good foundation.
... but in terms of mascara.. I've read that it doesn't really matter as long as you curl it before you apply it. I'm not too firmiliar with eye-shadows but I believe each product will show different results, you probably have to do some testing.
