Compton's Picture Encyclopedia in 8 volumes was first published in Chicago in 1922. It was reissued in 10 volumes in 1924, 1926, 1929 and in 16 volumes in 1931. I think it continued to be reissued in this format through the early 1960s. Then it was republished as Compton's Encyclopedia and Fact-Index in 24 volumes in 1969.

I'm not sure what kind of information you want. If you are curious as to the value of the set you have, you might check used/rare book dealers on line or in your area. My favorite coalition of dealers is abebooks.com, but you might also check alibris and/or bibliophile. A quick check that I just did indicates one set of the 1922 Compton's Picture Encyclopedia in only fair condition is being marketed for $50. For the set you have be sure that both the copyright date and the publication date is 1922. If it has more than eight volumes, it was published later than 1922.

I hope this is helpful.
