only come in three colors(brown, yellow, orange) while m&m's come in more?

Reese's are a Hershey brand...
M&M's are not Hershey brand.

Reese's trademark colors are brown yellow and orange. Just look at the packaging. They don't want people to think M&M's when they see them.

That is one of the Mysteries of the Universe, i'm afraid.

Like cats. They exist.....but no one is sure why. But at least cats come in more than three colours. Consider that.
