You need to isolate the variable - the X
Do the Order of Operations backwards.... add and subtract the number that is not "attached" by multiplication or division to the variable....
x/6 + 3 = 7
Subtract the 3 from both sides
x/6 + 3 (-3) = 7 (-3)
x/6 = 4
Multiply both sides by 6 (because that is the denominator of a fraction - below the variable)
x = 24
Hope this helps!
Good luck with the next 2!!!

1) x / 6 +3 =7
-3 -3
x / 6 = 4
6 *(x/6)= 4 *6
x = 24
2) x/ 2 =8
2*(x/2) = 8*2
x = 16
3) 8x - 11 = 2x + 1
-2x -2x
6x - 11 = 1
+11 +11
6x = 12
6x /6 = 12/6
x = 2

You need to do the opposite operation on both sides to undo the operations.
For the first subtract 3 from both sides and then multiply by 6 on both sides.
For the second multiply by 2 on both sides.
For the third subtract 2x on both sides, add 11 on both sides, and divide by 6 on both sides.
Good luck!

First two: multiply by lcd to clear fractions; solve for x.
Last one: get x's together with single numbers on other side. Divide by number in front of x (the coefficient). That will give you the value of x.
