When their bottom is all red and you see little red sores gathered around their privates. You can't confuse it with a diaper rash and a yeast infection though. With the yeast infection the sores would be bigger and diaper rash cream wouldnt clear it. With diaper rash use a good cream and let your child be air dryed for half an hour a day.

A diaper rash is red and will go away when you use diaper rash ointment. A yeast infection has red bumps and does not clear up with the ointment. If this is the case you will need to get an antifungal cream like Lotromin, or the same 7 day Monistat cream you would use for yourself. This will clear the yeast up in a few days.

Your babies skin that rubs against the diaper, which basically is the genital area and the surface of the thigh and buttocks will appear red or puffy or they might just have a red flat rash in those areas.

the babies diaper area will be red, sometimes just a little pinkish (more than normal) and others it will be fire engine red. if it has little pimples in it, it could be a yeast infection which would need treatment from a doctor.

It's red and slightly raised. Doesn't have a head on it though, like a pimple does.
