Your friends are playing a trick on you. Hallowe'en is always October 31. This year it happens to fall on a Tuesday.
The first weekend in October is when we unpack all the decorations and do the house up -- so yesterday and today I've been putting skeletons all over the yard (we have, of course, thirteen skeletons, not including the various other body parts, bones, and zombies). I got the blacklights up a few minutes ago, and have the fog machine in place. We still need to do a little more but this way we are off to a great start and can keep building up till the big night!
