Asians and Caucasians are generally considered two separate races. I'm old enough that when I was in school, we were taught that the three primary racial groups were "*******, Mongoloid and Caucasoid", although those terms are hardly ever used anymore. But I once worked in an office that collected statistical data, including data on race, and "Asian" and "Caucasian" were considered separate groups. These days, people are more prone to use the term "White" and "Asian", but they're still considered separate races, at least in terms of demographic data collection. As for the term "Caucasian", most people understand it to mean "white", although technically, there are some gray areas there at times.

Having said that, I once dated an Asian (I'm white), and was walking out of a theatre when some freak accosted us and started yelling at me about being a "race traitor" for dating an Asian. I thought he was going to attack both of us before it was all over.

And no I don't consider them White people The word white seems to have a negative social stigma and can be insulting to someones heritage. It's not so much to be white as it is to act white. Whatever that may be. There have been cultural differences but the gaps are closing between many younger generations.

Not all Caucasians are white, neither are Asians... but many from both are white. White just means light skin. Western ideology however uses white interchangeably with European... which is a fallacy. We don't own a patent on light skin.
