Stock TRX250 (2wd shaft model made in the late 1980's) top speed about 45mph.
Stock TRX250X (2wd chain drive sport four stroke built until '93) top speed aproximately 62mph.
Stock TRX250EX (2wd shaft / transverse engine - current model) top speed about 60mph.
Stock TRX250R (2wd chain sport two stroke built 1986-1989) top speed 70+mph.

I bought a 250 a couple of months ago and it's top end speed is 57 mph. I took it out on the service road and ran it next to a friend's car so he could give me a mph reading.
