Where in France did the Chamois family name originate?

I know they were huguenots, but that is all. Does anyone know about them?

From Jura, East of France, close to the swiss border.

That's difficult to answer. I found the site for protestant (huguenots) families of France. Perhaps you can find there or even ask by mail (there is an english version).
