Does it really represent you? Do you act more freakish online because we don't know you, or are you more yourself for the same reason?

The reason I ask is because I recently saw a picture on the web that was being used as someones identity on this page. Just curious is all - Some people feel more free to be silly when they know no one can identify them. My avatar is too young to really represent me, but its the best I could do w/out putting my actual picture up.

I chose this background because of the meadow and the rainbow. Rainbows have a special meaning in our family. Mom and Dad always promised each other that whichever of them left this earth first would wait at the foot of the rainbow for the other to join them and together hand and hand they would dance over their special rainbow into eternity. It was the only rainbow on the choices of background.
The young woman represents my only granddaughter. And that is my story.

That's called an avatar - and who are you and why did you choose yours? The only reason mine ended up the way it is, is because it's the closest I can get to me. There isn't a lot of choice out there. And I never act freakish online.

I like my avatar - it looks alittle like a very young me and yes, it represents what i do. I'm a mom and I work outside the home as well. so that's why i chose it.

I don't act any different online than in real life - however sometimes my mood affects what i write here.

I agree however - some of the pictures are waaaay out there

I only use pictures that are truly me. I like my legs. I work very hard at my fitness activities. I have an upper body picture that I use too. Once again, any photo is me. I will never lift a fake body picture from the internet and present it as myself. I never post my face though, not because i am ugly but to hide my answers from my employer, neighbor, friends....you never know who is on here. There are dangerous people looking around here and I would never want to be id'ed.

I used it because I like it. The style is close to mine. I have a real picture on my 360 page. No I don't act any different online than I do in person.

I wear glasses, I have short hair, and I live in the Bay Area so the Golden Gate Bridge is the backround. It's better then just a grey smile.

Well I was using art pictures. Things people had made for me but that didn't work out well....so I'm just me and I act like I do in real life. Just boring me.

I try to always be myself. It isn't fun being a phoney. I try to answer to the best of my ability and knowledge. The picture is as close as I could get to looking like me.

What do you mean? This is really me. Sometimes some stupid guy uses my name. One of these days I'm going to bite him.
Ignore the dog, I just put him outside. The picture is my bipolar bloodhound. Some days he is loveable, other days he tries to bite me. I don't know why.
