Everyone's chemistry is different, but there are a few good nail strengtheners such as OPI Nail Envy, Qtica Natural Nail Strengthener and Nailtiques. I have had good luck with all of these. Apply 2 coats the first day and 1 coat each day thereafter for seven days. Repeat the same for the second week. A few pointers...1. when removing nail polish try to use one that is moisturizing. 2. Wash hands with soap & water. 3. Use alcohol and clean off nail plate (this removes any remaining oils and residues). 4. Apply a coat of nail polish and seal your edges.
Purchase some cuticle oil and apply nightly. This will hydrate your nail beds because most nail strengtheners contain chemicals that dry out your nails. Try not to use any antibacterial soap as these are very drying too.

I tried lots of things and my nails would peel and crack. Now I go to the salon every two-three weeks to get my acrylic refills. I keep my nails not too long, so it looks natural. The best part of it is that the nail polish last for the two weeks intact!.
I know my real nails are not getting any stronger, but the effect is immediate and picture perfect

I buy a product called Witchcraft" from Walmart.
I have been using it for a few years and it is awsome. I put one coat under my regular polish and one coat on top.
People are always complimenting on how nice my nails are and
often think they are false. Before using this , my nails were thin and peeling.
It is about $8 (Canadian) a bottle.
