You need to get rid of the crabgrass that's giving you these.
Don't use roundup unless you want to kill everything that it touches!! Roundup is a non-selective herbicide, meaning it kills all. If you are in a Northern area, the crabgrass is starting to die on it's own now. But the seeds will remain for next year.

If not, go to Home Depot or any garden center and get a crabgrass killer. Apply as directed and your desirable grass will not be hurt, BUT the best thing to do is put down a fertilizer that contains a crabgrss pre-emergent in the spring. This will keep most of the seeds from germinating next summer, which is where crabgrass comes from.

Try a product called "Roundup". It works, but may require several applications, depending on the amount of Dockweed that you have.
